What role should the private sector play in developing the skills of young people? That’s one of the questions likely to come up at two international events on the theme of our upcoming 2012 Education for All Global Monitoring Report – how skills development can improve marginalized young people’s opportunities for decent jobs and better lives.
This week 400 business, government and NGO leaders from the Middle East and North Africa gathered in Amman, Jordan, for the event Youth@Work to discuss how to tackle the crisis of youth and the world of work. Young people from the region were actively involved as moderators, panellists and participants.
“Today, one in four young people living in the Middle East and North Africa can’t find jobs. That’s the highest youth unemployment rate in the world”, said Christy Macy of the International Youth Foundation, which hosted the event together with the Arab Urban Development Institute.
On Monday it is time for Breaking new ground: partnerships for more and better jobs for young people, an event organized in New York by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) that will provide the background for the 2012 Annual Ministerial Review on employment and decent work. La posibilidad de cambiar a los paises es por la acción de la educación. Los jóvenes ya no creen en la educación porque no les satisface la vida en la generalidad. Los fines han cambiado y han optado por buscar otros derroteros que inhiben en productividad tecnologica y de servicios por la falta de interes.
La escuela ya no educa, educan actualmente los medios de información y comunicación. Los jovenes no son productores de estos bienes, se han convertido en solo consumidores, y estan sujetos a vivir crisis por no tener con quien comunicarse, la internet esta siendo un instrumento y los twitter, faceboock esta haciendo otra parte, los mails son indispensables. Los maestros ya estamos pasando a la historia como los sujetos que no sabemos lo que hacemos.
El Estado hace tambien su parte con no proponer y direccionar aspectos educativos que ayuden a los jovenes y no que solo los entretengan con muchos años en los centros que la verdad es la tercera parte de la vida util de un hombre o mujer.
Cuando un hombre o mujer llega a los 50 años es ya una persona obsoleta, que no puede trabajar ni desempeñar algún tipo de trabajo, no debe tener ningún desarrollo laboral sea de lo que sea.
Eso es lo que causa incertidumbre social, educativa y politica, pero eso realmente no importa, lo que si importa es la manera en como el gobienro transgrede los horizontes de la corrupción y de la segregación y/o exclusión.
